My client, a local authority based in the South is looking to engage an interim Team Leader for Asset Management, to operate within their Regeneration and Estates directorate. The directorate is currently going through a restructure and the interim post will cover this period and support the implementation of the new permanent structure.

The key responsibilities of this role are to effectively deliver the implementation of the Council's Asset Management plan and associated capital investment portfolio. The Team Leader will be required to be deliver professional asset management, property and valuation standards as well as being a source of expert advice to ensure that solutions to the Councils accommodation needs are cost effective and service focussed.

The ideal individual for this role will have experience of managing assets/property within a Local Authority setting. You will need to RICS (Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors) qualified with a current accreditation as you will be required to commission significant valuations from independent valuers, take a view on valuations, negotiate property deals in addition to working with the Team to deliver fundamental improvements in services. You will also have a good up to date knowledge of current legislation and practice, including the current pressures faced by Local Authorities.
