IT Support/Helpdesk - 6 months, Brussels

Fantastic opportunity to work as an IT Support/Helpdesk for a leading organisation in the banking sector based in Brussels. 6 Month contract with likely extensions to follow.

The IT Support/Helpdesk will:

  • be responsible for the Company's IT systems and infrastructure
  • provide support to all employees, assisting them with PC, server, networking and hardware problems.
  • provide accurate, timely and relevant data analysis and reports for the business, working closely with other departmental colleagues.

The role will be ideally suited to an experienced IT Support/Helpdesk looking to increase their exposure to the following:

  • To ensure all systems are operational on a day to day basis and to manage the Windows environment effectively
  • To perform routine maintenance and upgrades of all network hardware and software. To ensure all computers have the correct software and are running the latest versions. To maintain the internal PC database accordingly
  • To ensure that all systems are kept secure and that adequate controls exist to safeguard the IT infrastructure, data and performance of the business
  • To manage system development projects
  • To develop professional and effective working relationships with all external support providers ensuring appropriate levels of support are in place at all times to minimise any risk to the business and respond promptly to unforeseen occurrences. To undertake cost benefit analysis in relation to use of such providers
  • To effectively manage external suppliers
  • To respond to queries from IT users professionally, efficiently and in a timely manner, maintaining a high level of customer service
  • To ensure provision of effective IT training for employees as required, via a mix of procedures manuals, coaching and formal training, encouraging a self service culture where appropriate

Essentials:

  • BA or BSC Computing degree or similar
  • Microsoft Office 2003 and 2010
  • Windows 7 and XP
  • Exchange Server 2010
  • DNS
  • Active Directory
  • VBA
  • SQL
