Sr. Infrastructure Project Manager
Skills: Large Infrastructure Experience, Data Center Implementation, and Project Scheduling/Resource Management
Summary
Our client has maintained consistent growth and stability because of their diversified portfolio of products, and are looking for a Sr. Infrastructure Project Manager to add to their team. The ideal candidate is a Senior Level Project Manager with at least 10 years of hands-on Project Management experience as an Infrastructure PM managing over 1,000 Servers. Projects include the implementation of Cisco-Tandberg global video conferencing, a service desk tool replacement, an AIX implementation, a network monitoring tool implementation and other infrastructure projects. The top three requirements for this position are Large Infrastructure Experience, Data Center Implementation, and Project Scheduling/Resource Management. This is a 12 + month contract opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the team and vendors to develop a detailed project plan and deliver results
- Establish positive working relationships to ensure clear communication of business requirements, successful UAT design, testing and timely implementation
- Responsible for managing and directing all project activities; including managing scope, change orders, status reporting, risks, defects, as well as regularly track project, master schedule, and control gate progress and resources within budget and project schedule
- Develop and gain agreement with stakeholders on project plans and budgets
- Follow established project management practices including management of scope, requirements, issues, and risks
- Consistently delivers high-quality services to our clients
- Lead project team to deliver business and technical objectives on-time, within budget and to specification
- Create MS Project schedule using Dynamic Scheduling, and utilize the schedule to communicate and manage the work
- Report status, issues and risks according to PMO processes and schedule
- Prepare project for governance gate approvals
Engage directly with internal clients to understand their business objectives and translate them into delivery plans - Collaborate with other project and program managers to manage project interdependencies
- Establish positive working relationships with customers, stakeholders and team members
- Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts, address issues and conduct pro's and con's evaluations toward resolution
Qualifications
- Must be familiar with resource estimation and resource planning techniques.
- Must be able to plan, report and execute against planned work activities.
- Multi-tasking position requiring experience in technical integration, business acumen, coordination skills, and supervisory competence to effectively and efficiently manage the progression and ultimate completion
- Demonstrated project management expertise required, including ability to manage a complex project, and managing projects in risk and dependency rich environment
- Have worked in medium to large corporate environments, insurance (P&C) and/or financial services industry preferred
- Experience and thorough understanding of the PMI-based Project Management Life Cycle
- Experience in delivering technical solutions from concept, selection, installation, testing and implementation focusing on data-related projects
- Experience with the SDLC and familiarity with agile methods
- Background in business analysis and testing not required but preferred
- Comfortable relaying project details to C level senior management
- Possess excellent communication skills; personal, written and presentation
