Our client a prestigious name in Fund circles requires an experienced VBA Developer to join their Luxembourg office for a 12 month contract assignment. The role holder will be in charge of development and enhancement of Access and Excel based tools to meet our client's business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
*Gathering user requirements for new developments
*Work with the project manager throughout the complete project life cycle
*Develop code which adheres to current standard programming practices
*Create attractive and robust user interfaces
*Consistent and comprehensive documentation of code produced
*Support & maintenance of existing applications
Essential qualifications:
*Fluent in English (French is an option)
*Excellent Advanced/Expert VBA skills
*Excellent Advanced/Expert MS Access/Excel 2010 & SQL skills
Creative thinker/problem solver who can assesses a series of solutions in order to choose the most appropriate for the given problem and revaluates the progress for the chosen solution over time
*Attention to detail oriented. Can retain concentration on even the most tedious of tasks to ensure absence of defects
*Highly effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Can understand, and be understood, when discussing business and technical issues with both technical and non technical colleagues, clients, stakeholders and vendors
*Competent Research skills. Capable of using reference materials to find solutions, prompt innovation and aid personal development
*Ability to work to tight deadlines in high pressure environment
*Must be resourceful and able to work on his/her own initiative but know when to report problems and seek advice
*Must be keen and motivated a team player and a fast learner
