Are you a Senior-level AIX Systems Administrator/Engineer with enterprise data center expertise? Do you have a mature attitude, and work well in a deliberate, conservative, and regulated environment? Our Raleigh Financial Services client has an immediate 6 month contract requirement for you!
Work to be performed will be normal AIX system administration/engineering tasks including but not limited to: System building, patching, troubleshooting, documentation, ticket queue management and the Scripting/automation of repeatable tasks. You will assist in AIX projects that are currently underway. However, this is not a systems development role, but a systems maintenance and support role.
Skills required
- 5+ years experience with AIX 5.2, 5.3, and 6.1; best practices and security. Familiarity with NIM, VIO, LPAR (virtualization), HMC, HACMP and an enterprise backup solution such as TSM or Legato is highly preferred. Scripting proficiency in ksh, Perl or other Shell language. Understanding of system hardening, auditing and security practices.
Monday - Friday 8 am - 5pm. Nights and Weekends as required. Typical work week 40 - 45 hours. You'll be part of a highly-experienced 4-person team who works well together, and takes initiative to do what it takes to get the job done. There is some rolling on-call requirement, but you and your team will work out the schedule. You may travel to PA once for disaster recovery exercises.
