Main Function

The function of the role is to support the Reporting and Analytics team and assist the Risk and Control team in their day to day activities. The reporting element will involve weekly risk reporting with regards to the department's key risk and performance indicators as well as monthly reporting on identifying control gaps and there resolution. A key part of the job is working with the regulatory team delivering on FSA driven mandatory controls/reporting. The individual will also be part of a consistent improvement agenda to improve efficiencies and eliminate control gaps.

Main Duties

The responsibilities of the role are as follows:
* Be a key contributor to the build out of reporting deliverables to give transparency of risks
* Global participant in weekly OPC risk reporting. Validation and consolidation of data for Head of OPC. * Ad-hoc risk reporting. Market volatility reports may be required at short notice on demand to support senior managers risk assessments.
* Engage with key stakeholders across Operations & Finance to ensure the Global Ops Control risk deliverables are met
* Work in conjunction with the Risk & Control team to build reports designed to enhance the ability to track risk triggers for the function.
* Work in conjunction with the regulatory team to deliver on mandatory requests for data and changes to business practice.
* Apply strong control principles to a wide range of issues/challenges across multiple asset classes.

Person Requirements

* Previous investment banking experience, within an Operations environment.
* Previous experience in Operations in a risk & control/reporting capacity
* Previous experience with project deliverables
* Highly numerate skill set
* Advanced Access and & Excel knowledge
* Able to discuss technical issues with IT, and explain these problems to business users as necessary
* Advanced MS PowerPoint and MS Word experience would be an advantage
* Ability to write basic queries using SQL would be beneficial
* Strong knowledge of MS Access & Excel programming in VBA
* 5+ years of experience in a risk/reporting environment
* 10+ years of experience in Financial industry

Investment banking will be very beneficial for this position, Strong technical skills are a key feature so you will be expected to have excellent Access and Excel experience. A majority of this position will be putting packs together - a good operations background will be valuable in understanding the risk and issues and being confident to challenge when necessary.
