Data Manager (Upstream Oil & Gas), 6 months, Middlesex
We are looking for an experienced Data Manager for an initial 6 month contract working in Middlesex.
Data Manager scope covers all aspects of data management (structured and unstructured data) including engineering documents, engineering data, project control information and specialist documents such as 3D models. In particular this role is responsible for determining the strategic approach to support all KPI and cross discipline reporting needs and supporting the delivery of this capability.
Essential skills required:
- Degree qualified in IT or Engineering based discipline.
- Substantial experience in the international upstream oil industry in the Major Project domain
- Thorough understanding of both IT and Upstream Oil & Gas key business processes
- Demonstrable experience linking Strategy to operational delivery
- Experience in Management of Change or business process improvement
- Experience in data management domain or data area of expertise, in particular logical modelling of complex business areas.
- Ability to work in a global context with multiple business teams in various geographical locations
- Training and experience of development of all of the Data Management Programme framework: Data Governance, Data Security, Database operations Management, Data Architecture, Data Quality, Meta Data Management, Document Content Management Data Warehousing/Business Intelligence, Master Data Management.
- Ability to act as a 'change agent' to facilitate better data requirements definition and improved information flows;
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Desirable
- Knowledge of BP and IT&S and/or experience of Upstream key business and technical systems used in the relevant domain.
- Deep domain expertise and experience of Upstream DM and systems within the Function
