A Communications Associate is required for a global financial services company to work with the European communications team across Media Relations, Internal Communications, Brand and Digital, providing high quality support for internal and external communications initiatives and the Commercial function in Europe.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Support the Communications team in the preparation of strategic communications plans
  • Liaison with journalists, fielding and handling media requests, media outreach on PR campaigns and regular discussion with communicators and marketing teams in European countries
  • Identification of external opportunities: media forward feature lists, external speaker opportunities, influencer outreach, production of daily media analysis reports, TV & radio interviews
  • Preparation/drafting of high-quality written materials for potential release to the media, customers, KBIs and other influencers
  • The role will assist the crisis communications team, and will be actively engaged in protecting the reputation of the organization in EMEA
  • Active involvement of external event management at an EMEA HQ level.
  • Run digital press room
  • Manage quarterly media evaluation reporting for all European markets
  • Minimum 2 years experience or postgraduate qualification in communications
  • Must have outstanding writing skills
  • Experience with the media/journalists is helpful for the role
  • Familiarity with new social media and latest technologies in communication
  • Ability to deliver or quickly learn to deliver high quality communications material/output: newsletters, brochures, e-comms, events, webcasts etc
  • Individual must exhibit strong interpersonal, writing and presentation skills
  • Must possess rigorous attention to detail
  • Individual needs to be able to work both independently and within a team, including a 'virtual' team across EMEA
  • Ability to juggle and meet numerous deadlines
  • Must possess superior organisation & creative skills
  • Able to interact professionally at all levels of the business
  • Additional European language, preferably French or German
