*Our client is a signature Pacific Northwest games company with a great contract opening for a Play Systems Engineer in Test.*

This position will test and verify at the whitebox/graybox levels for updates to the sites, applications, configurations, and databases associated with the internal tools and web applications. The position will use formal test and development methodologies to create test plans, develop test tools/harnesses, and implement automation suites sufficient to meet: internal test standards, QA Best Practices, business requirements and project schedules.

The candidate will need to successfully test in multiple categories of testing from UI, unit, data, API, class, functional, configuration, performance, application to deployment and correctly apply test strategies to components, applications, systems and configurations of the online game and stores.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to develop (from site statistics and projection models) basic load/stress test scenarios
  • Ability design and implement test cases for a distributed, N-tier application including physical or virtual separation of applications in a distributed application (client-to-server, server-to-server, and server-to-data layer)
  • Development skills C#, WCF, SQL and Java sufficient review Object and class models, derive test strategies and plans, and to develop or run test applications and/or harnesses
  • Ability to review system level or application level (object models, class diagrams, and entity-relationship diagrams) and derive technical and sufficient test documentation to test at API, interface, class, and application level
  • Network testing and/or analysis for configuration, load, or functionality
  • Functional knowledge of formal, managed deployment process of software applications, configurations, and system elements (server, database, application, configuration)
  • Basic.nix skills including: Shell navigation, running script, log monitoring and system performance
  • Ability to parse database schemas and relational diagrams sufficient to create/update SQL statements in order to: extract test data, create new records, and to modify existing data to complete data level test passes
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people
  • Ability to work well with cross platform developers
  • Ability to adapt to changing business and development requirements and adjust test plan accordingly

This contract is expected to be 12 months in duration.
