Overview:
My client a fast growing Premier Business Partner who specialise in providing consulting services to a variety of national and international customers are looking for a consultant to join their busy Project Management team.

Roles and Responsibilities:
You will be an IT focused project manager able to handle day to day project and client responsibilities. You must be able to handle multiple projects at once and be comfortable with both large, longer term projects as well as smaller projects. You will be able to handle the engagement management aspects of client relationship. This position may include travel to on-site engagements or may involve working from a home office with resources geographically dispersed.

The individual most likely to succeed in this role is a resourceful and skilled project manager with a technical project manager background in both packaged and custom development, be able to handle full life cycle projects using a recognized methodology such as RUP or PMBOK. Able to effectively communicate on both a business and technical level to navigate the complexities of a sophisticated software solution while coordinating a geographically dispersed extended team of internal resources, third party resources, and the customer.

As a Senior Technical Project Manager you will be expected to:

  • Manage all aspects of a project, which include project scoping, planning, execution, control, reporting, quality, cost and early identification of risks and issues
  • Use project management methodologies, eg Rational Unified Process and Scrum
  • Identify and manage dependencies, both internal and external
  • Lead and coordinate project teams to ensure efficient use of resources
  • Manage multiple projects for different clients concurrently if required
  • Liaise with stakeholders and clients, evaluate their interests and establish effective communication with them
  • Work collaboratively with and co-ordinate the client's third party suppliers wherever necessary to deliver integrated solutions
  • Work collaboratively with the client and project team to find pragmatic solutions to issues or mitigate potential project risks
  • Effectively manage change control with the client and project team Create and maintain project documentation
  • Communicate with the Delivery Director on project status, delivery timescales, resource utilisation and cost.

Qualities and Qualifications:
Management Experience: 6 to 10 years
Development Cost Range: £500K TO £2M
Team Size: 5 TO 15 FTEs
Duration of Project: 6 TO 12 Months
Certifications: PMP preferred; Certified Scrum Master preferred; Rational tools certification a plus.
Tool experience: MS Project required. Rational Team Concert a plus.
Process experience: Agile experience required; RUP and Scrum preferred.

All Consultants are required to travel and work on customer sites throughout the UK and Europe, so the ability to travel freely without restriction is essential.
