Description

My client, a property services company in West Sussex requires a building surveyor/stock condition surveyor to carry out condition surveys to Council owned corporate buildings and property the geographical region in accordance with guidelines & in conjunction with the Property Management System - Technology Forge (TF Facility). A major part of the role will be carrying out condition surveys using a hand held computer & inputting existing property information into the Property Management system - including service history, asbestos records, etc. A good all round knowledge of mechanical & electrical installation in addition to building construction is essential.

The property portfolio includes theatres, leisure centres, office buildings and a Crematorium, many of the buildings are listed or of special interest.

A number of the larger buildings have recently been surveyed. The post holder will be expected to interpret existing information - experience with asset management systems is therefore essential as only minimal training will be available.

The project is to be completed within a limited period - effective self management is crucial to ensure deadlines are met. A significant amount of the post holders time will be spent in the office inputting survey & asset information, some administrative support will be made available if there are areas which can be delegated to non-technical staff.

Key Skills:

You will ideally have a HND/HNC in Building or equivalent, or perhaps a degree. You will have experience of completing this type of work on non-housing stock. A good knowledge of asbestos regulations is also required.
