Role: Signalling Designer - IRSE License holderLocation: Birmingham, Midlands
Salary: £28K - 40K + benefits
The Client
This global engineering consultancy have a reputation for delivering world class projects of significant size and value and their reputation for creative engineering excellence precedes them. They meet transport challenges with fresh analysis and tailored solutions providing a range from high-speed rail and suburban rail, through to metro and mass transit, monorail and automated people movers (APM). Their Rail team are now looking for talented Rail Signalling Designers with a Principles license to join their team in the Midlands.
The Role
Working within the Signalling Design team, you will be working on a wide variety of projects both in the UK and overseas. Your key responsibilities will be:
- Producing detailed signalling designs
- Implement design scope in accordance with company standards and procedures
- Providing technical guidance and working with the team to ensure that technical queries are resolved satisfactorily
- Assisting with the planning and managing projects including time and resource allocation
- Providing support / mentoring to assistant designers ensuring that they fully understand the signalling design scope.
The Candidate
Ideal candidates are likely to have the following:
- IRSE License category 1.1.150 - Signalling designer
- Good knowledge of signalling design principles and experience of signalling software packages - (Plans, Gwire etc)
- Experience of signalling construction methods
- Ability to manage a small team and mentor Assistant / Junior Designers as required.
- Experience and knowledge of one or more of the following - SSI, RRI or mechanical systems.
- HND or other higher qualification would be beneficial
