The Client

Our client is a market leading consultancy within the public sector. They have been appointed to undertake condition surveys of building stock to validate and update existing information throughout Oxfordshire.

Your Role

Your role will involve undertaking condition surveys to a range of buildings across Oxfordshires education, social care, fire service, library services, magistrates and corporate premises across the County, so reasonable amounts of travelling is expected. The position is to work within a regional team undertaking surveys throughout Oxfordshire. The team will consist of Building Surveyors, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers supervised by a Principle Engineer and overall managed by a Project Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • To manage own workload and follow the survey programme of delivery
  • To attend pre meetings with schools and capture information on a pre-meeting checklist
  • To undertake surveys in accordance with the survey manual
  • To update condition information as necessary

Essential Experience/Skills

  • Have a strong demonstrable understanding of electrical installations
  • Have the ability to report on condition, priority, quantity/volume, remediation action and value
  • Be familiar with the use of electronic data capture via hand held PDA's and the use of iPad's
  • Electrical condition surveying experience in relation to educational buildings
  • Experience of working with clients in the public sector
  • Hold a current driving licence with no more than 6 points
  • The employee must pass an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau check

Desired Experience/Skills

  • Degree, C&G, NVQ, HNC/ONC qualifications in an electrical related discipline
  • Commercially aware and financially astute
  • Fully IT literate and numerate
