Position Requirements:
Individual who would be comfortable and experienced in a dynamic Procurement Operations and Category Management environment managing a dynamic list of projects both large and small in scope as well as Procurement sourcing backfill activity. Must be comfortable and adept to interfacing with Director and Vice President leadership levels of a Fortune 500 company. Proficient and experienced with Procurement concepts, strategies and processes to resolve Procurement issues requiring identification of problem statement, collaborating with pertinent cross-functional stakeholders in solution, define solution process and execute to resolution.

Basic Qualifications:

A 4-year bachelor degree in business or related field, from an accredited college or university plus 4 years of experience working in contract negotiation and/or supplier management position(s) in a Procurement organization, OR a minimum of 6 years of experience working in contract negotiation and/or supplier management position(s) in a Procurement organization.

Department Description:
The Global Procurement team is moving beyond more traditional sourcing and procurement goals by going beyond cost savings and creating value for the enterprise by improving profitability, increasing supplier collaboration, and supporting new solutions development. We are a client focused team designed to bring value and help lead innovations within the enterprise.

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations:
* Analyzes administrative problems and makes appropriate recommendations; prepares clear and concise reports and recommendations, both oral and written; analyzes methods and procedures adequately and logically; interprets laws, rules, and regulations affecting procurement and business operations.
* Ability to define service-level requirements and metrics; crafts SLAs which go beyond mere measurement to include a methodology for the ongoing management of service levels, and for the continuous improvement of service activities, functions and processes.
* Leads supplier negotiations to meet sourcing cost reduction goals for the NA Services space. Identifies cost savings to meet business goals through negotiations, event driven ideas, and second sourcing. Develops and maintains commodity cost reduction plans and manages expectations to targets.
* Manages one or more complex Categories with minimal direction. Develops and leads Category strategy to include macro environment, cost reduction requirements supplier roadmaps, best practices, and risk mitigation plans. Develops and maintains a supply base strategy that fits with the business direction. This includes supporting new product and solution supplier selection and supplier consolidation.
* Maintains and builds relationships with key cross-functional members of the business. Acts as a source of expertise and support to teams. Communicates and works well with the Global Services organization, their stakeholders, and Suppliers to identify and bridge technology trend needs in products and solutions.
* Maintains and builds relationships with Suppliers and provides solutions to issues impacting preferred customer status with those suppliers. Participates in the execution of key supplier events (ie quarterly business reviews, seminars or supplier Summit).
* Coordinates contract reviews with internal teams - Legal, Support, Information Security, Finance, Buyers, Quality, and Business teams to ensure Suppliers meet requirements for each respective area.
* Takes a leadership role to resolve complex issues (such as pricing disputes, audits, service level agreement discussions or licensing issues) and to implement best practices to improve the Category as a whole.
* Promotes and maintains accurate pricing for all stakeholders.
Specific Knowledge/Skills:
* Negotiation skills to resolve problems, finalize contracts, and achieve cost savings objectives.
* Understanding of how to identify and prioritize the critical success factors (CSF) necessary and use of consensus-decision techniques designed to accommodate individual requirements into a collective RFQ
* Ability to drive threshold leveling tools to create minimum acceptance service performance factors for service providers (suppliers) and subsequent ability to prioritize and weight to ensure internal stakeholder needs are recognized and fulfilled in the procuring process.
* Knowledge on how to establish an expenditure baseline for services, including expenditures for travel, transportation, information technology, legal, insurance, health benefits, professional services, and advertising.
* Ability to manage a very high volume of concurrent contract negotiations and prioritize accordingly to complete contracts in a timely manner.
* Leadership, strategic thinking, ability to think/analyze both at micro and macro level. Solve problems with minimal supervision but use escalations effectively if required. Individual should be a motivated self starter with a passion to own their space and a desire to succeed.
* Cost breakdown methodology and the ability to map cost drivers on a services engagement. Have a good business sense and ability to understand complex financial and commercial terms.
* Ability to communicate well with various levels of internal and external management: internally to VP level, externally to CEO level.
* Experience to pull together internal and external data and information to develop forward looking strategies for suppliers based on manufacturing needs, technology shifts, and supplier landscape.
  • Build and manage internal supplier relationships and satisfaction for high criticality categories, understanding business
  • Participate in appropriate business team meetings to ensure engagement and facilitate relationships with internal business partners
  • Lead supplier selection and recommendation activities including qualitative and quantitative analysis, selection criteria, long and short lists, RFI and RFP development and analysis
  • Knowledge and experience in the area of sourcing Engineering and IT consultant with experience SaaS highly desired.
