ABOUT THE POSITION
The Project Manager is responsible for technical, schedule, and cost management of IT projects. This role will lead a project team through scoping, cost/benefit analysis, planning, requirements definition, design, development, test, deployment, and support activities to achieve successful implementation of the defined solution. The Project Manager is responsible for the overall project, but will work under the direction of senior management and coordinate tasks across both customer and IT organizations. The Project Manager coordinates and maintains internal communications within the project team and external communications to other project stakeholders. The Project Manager publishes and maintains project status, including accomplishments, issues, and risks, and develops project management documentation. This function facilitates team meetings, and is responsible for coordination of all Management reviews to include tracking of project tasks to schedule and owner, and will ensure the quality of the final product delivered to the customer.
POSITION SPECIFICS
Our client is migrating numerous databases from multiple versions of Oracle to Oracle 11G. The PM doesn't need to be an Oracle expert, but Oracle Database migration experience is highly desired. The main focus of this role will be full life cycle IT project management from inception to deployment to hypercare. This is an IMMEDIATE need and interviews will be conducted ASAP!
REQUIREMENTS
8+ years of experience in the following skill sets
- IT Project Management Experience
- Large Scale Database Migrations - Oracle Database Mirgration to 11G highly desired.
- Application Development
- Information Technology Infrastructure and Networking Services
- Data Management
- Electronic Asset and Equipment Management
- Information Security
- Risk Analysis and Reporting
- Process Improvement Methodologies
- Risk Management
- Product/Process Measurement and Analysis (metrics) as applied to IT systems
- Ability to define the value of IT solutions through business case design and analysis (ROI)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven Documentation Skills
- Bachelors Degree
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Familiarity with HP's Project and Portfolio Management Center (PPMC)
