Description
Develop specification and prepare material requisitions for electrical switchgear, UPS, MCC, power transformers, trace heating materials and distribution equipment, lighting, earthing and other electrical equipment as necessary.Review Vendors` quotations, prepare technical quotation evaluation and recommend the final technically acceptable Vendor. Technically approve Order Variation Summaries. Review and approve Vendor order documentation.
Liaise with other departments and the client as necessary but in particular.
With the Process Engineering Department at all stages of the project where equipment has a particular influence on the process design philosophy.
With Mechanical Equipment, Utilities and Project Groups in relation to electrical equipment associated with packages, to ensure compliance with Project Standards and requirements.
With Electrical Design Section in relation to electrical matters and review of critical drawings.
With the Client`s Electrical Engineer on technical matters concerning electrical equipment.
Carry out other duties assigned by the Chief Electrical Engineer and in particular:
Carry out technical investigations, produce technical reports, engineering standards and procedures.
Assist in the development and training of personnel including graduate engineers when requested.
Participate in proposal activities as required
Design, selection and procurement of a wide range of electrical equipment including switchgear, protection, motor control, power distribution, lighting, earthing, trace heating etc.
Design, selection and procurement of electrical equipment. Requirements for the selection and design of electrical equipment.
Site survey experience.
Development of detailed design deliverables including block cable diagrams, schematic diagrams, one line diagrams, cable routing drawings, general arrangement drawings, cable schedules, etc in conjunction with an electrical designer.
