Our client a world leader in Oil and Gas exploration would like to recruit an Environmental Specialist to join the team in Great Yarmouth. The will be occasional travel to Aberdeen and the offices in Assen. You will be involved in Audits so will also be expected to travel off-shore and to other locations.

The position reports to the HSE Team Leader and is part of a team of 7 Health, Safety and Environmental professionals.

It is expected that after a year, the position will be transferred to a full time position for the successful candidate.

Accountabilities: To support the asset, both onshore and offshore, for all Environmental matters. This includes: -Regulatory surveillance; drive compliance with permits/legislation - identify and manage non-conformance.

Drive compliance with the Group internal HSE framework, standards and procedures -Challenge and advise Asset on Environmental risks and issues.

Plan and deliver improvement plans -Maintains existing, or develops new, tools and methodologies, and shares best practices -Analyze and report on Environmental Performance (data reporting, KPIs, verification, training, incidents, audit outcomes).

Represent the company to the Regulator (EA, DECC), Stakeholders and Partners.

Manages operational interface with the Regulator (incident reporting, permit application and compliance, non-compliance) Participate in audits and business self assurance (eg ISO 14001) Contribute to all environmental elements of the HSE Management System (Business Planning, Budget, Strategic Reviews, forecasting, target setting, data submissions, assurance activities, Management Review).

The ideal candidate will have experience of the Oil and Gas industry and knowledge of Environmental Management Systems, including ISO 14001 is essential. Experience identifying environmental aspects and controls, experience performing environmental audits good interpersonal skills, a communicator with strong influencing skills structured/logical thinker with good judgment, able to identify and address complex problems. Good Computer & presentation skills are essentials.
