ABOUT THE PROJECT
GTN Technical Staffing has an urgent need for a strong Sr. Backup Admin opportunity in Irving, TX. Our client is feeling a deep sense of urgency and will begin conducting technical phone screens ASAP. The Senior Backup Administrator will be supporting the company's backup, restore, and disaster recovery related technologies and processes. The Administrator will be part of a small team of backup technicians supporting our global backup technologies and projects currently in place and provide support to projects and efforts as designated by the IT SCM. The Administrator will have experience working on a team leading, coordinating, communicating, and developing backup procedures in all company locations working collaboratively both with the Backup team and other IT and business leaders.
- Issue Resolution/Disaster Recovery Testing
- Manage Provisioning/Performance/Availability/Capacity
- Provide Status Reports of Backups
- Lifecycle Management of all Backup Infrastructures
- Design/Implement New Backup Infrastructures
- Systems Tuning - Maintain High Availability/Capacity
- Implement Failure Mode Management for the Backup Technology Stack
- Prepare Requests for Acquisition of Software/Hardware
- Identify/Eliminate all Single Points of Failure
- Maintain/Administer Processes for Change - Scheduling/Coordination/Impact Assessment
- Backup Hardware/System Software Contract Management/Tracking
- Maintain Compliancy - SOX/PCI/SAS70/SSAE 16
- Support Disaster Recovery Efforts as Mandated by ITO Management
- Design/Deploy Backups for Internal/External Customers
- Adopt ITIL/CobiT Improvement Methodologies
- Identify Process Improvement Opportunities/Initiatives/Metrics
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
4+ years of experience in the following skill sets
- Backup Services/Systems Analysis/Project Management
- 24X7 Operations Methodologies/Best Practices - Sarbanes Oxley (SOX)/ITIL/CobiT
- Windows Servers
- VMware ESX/vSphere
- UNIX/Linux Administration
- VERITAS NetBackup x
- VBR - VERITAS Backup Report
- NOM - NetBackup Operations Manager
- OpsCenter
- Oracle Clients/Databases
- TSM - Tivoli Storage Management
- Storage/SAN Tape Interface/Technologies - SDK/IBM
PREFERRED (but not required)
- ITIL and/or CobiT Certifications
