ABOUT THE POSITION

The Financial Consolidation and Planning Delivery and Support role is responsible for the delivery and support and platform engineering (establishing and maintaining a stable, predictable and sustainable platform) for the SAP Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC) and Hyperion Financial Management (and ancillary utilities) capabilities and environments. These environments directly support the enterprise financial consolidation processes and SG&A (Selling, General, & Administrative) business processes.

This role is responsible for collaborating with project teams to deliver accurate information to business users while in alignment with the business solution definition, systems architecture, and development standards for the organization. In addition to the project team, this role with also interact with business clients and BI Solution Delivery Architect - Finance to ensure appropriate integration with end-to-end Business Intelligence capabilities. The Financial Consolidation and Planning Delivery and Support role will contribute to the continuous improvement of technical standards and best practices for all aspects of the referenced capabilities. They are also responsible for educating colleagues, in addition to ensuring business user education is available and developed to meet business use requirements.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

4+ years of experience in the following skill sets

  • SAP Business Planning and Consolidation ( BPC ) in enterprise-level environment.
  • Hyperion Financial Management
  • Enterprise Financial Consolidation Processes
  • Selling, General, and Administrative Business Processes
  • Ability to train team and end-users.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work across technology teams to ensure alignment between business solution definition, systems architecture, and development standards for the organization.
  • Work independently with a functional team to understand business requirements and translate into solutions that provide optimal user experience.
  • Work with business subject matter experts to gain understanding of financial concepts and end-to-end business processes.
  • Develop, deliver and support optimal business processes and accurate information from the financial consolidations and planning solutions to business users.
  • Understand the relationship between business processes and system components to identify potential causes of problems, and engage to assist in resolution of problems.
  • Coordinate planned outages with BI Solution Delivery Architect - Finance and/or the Business Partner.
  • Interact and coordinate Infrastructure resources to address performance and/or capacity issues.
  • Coordinate and/or execute software patches with vendor and Infrastructure team (s) as appropriate. Work with the BI Solution Delivery Architect - Finance and the associated ITS Business Partner to minimize disruption to the business.
  • Generate and Maintain documentation relevant to business continuity and platform configuration. Work with Business Partner to ensure that Business Continuity plans are in place and are maintained for accuracy.
  • Drive resolution of problems through vendor ticket creation processes. Escalate issues as required to ensure appropriate level of urgency is maintained. Communicate status of open issues to BI Solution Delivery Architect - Finance, ITS Business Partner and others as appropriate. Work with the BI Solution Delivery Architect - Finance to ensure that impact of issues is correctly communicated.
  • As issues are encountered and resolved, implement measures to detect or prevent recurrence in an effort to continuously improve system stability and availability.
  • Provide assistance with problem triage to ensure that issues are addressed in a timely manner. Follow-up on problems in order to provide status to the business prior to resolution and to understand problem cause (s) and solutions after resolution.
