Material Development Technician
Sirch Incorporated is currently looking for a Material Development Technician for 6 month contract in Greenville, SC. The ideal candidate will live in the Greenville/Spartanburg area and have 2 or more years of experience.
Job Summary
The Material Development Technician is responsible for developing and assisting with the development of novel conductive materials and compositions.
Essential Job Functions
The Material Development Technician will assist with the preparation, processing and testing of various materials and formulations along with tracking of experimental projects. The technician is also responsible for documenting data, submitting samples for additional testing and translating the findings into market applications.
Education & Experience
Requirements: A.S. Degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or materials science with two (2) years of related experience
Preferred: B.S. Degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or materials science with two (2)+ years of related experience.
Skills, Abilities & Certifications
Requirements:
A successful candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office and must be able to work effectively both independently and as a team. The position requires initiative, judgment & ingenuity. Both verbal and communication skills must be strong. The candidate must have proven organizational skills and be able to handle multiple complex work assignments. The position requires knowledge of polymer synthesis, formulations and coatings.
Preferred:
Knowledge of electronic materials formulations is preferred. Experience with formulating conductive water-borne composition, solvent-borne composition & nano materials is also preferred.
