Our client requires the services of a Software Specialist (Level 3), to provide deliverables including, but not limited to, the following:
Java EE Application Development and Enhancement administration - Design, develop, maintain and document Java based programs (other languages may apply to a lesser extent).
Participate in change management, requirements analysis and definition.
Design, write, and develop Java applications, including system utilities for testing, monitoring, and administration of applications.
Design and implement Middleware services using JSF/Hibernate/iBATIS/Spring frameworks, EJBs & Adapter Libraries
Create and maintain design/architecture documentation, system specification and sub-system specification documentation. Follows (and continues to develop) established software development guidelines and procedures.
Conduct appropriate development unit testing of applications to ensure quality
Migrate applications/data from AS400 system
Debug, test, and install complex applications programs. Diagnose and resolve complex application software problems. Develop test procedures and test platforms.
Client Relations
Collaborate with Application Development team and other cross functional teams to solve product and customer issues.
Maintain, develop and update the structured framework (security implementation, design, layout, graphical content and navigation).
Ensure compliance with government software development standards, including SDLC and PMLC
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum of ten (10) years experience with coding languages and environments in Java, JEE(J2EE), JSF/Hibernate/iBATIS/Spring frameworks, EJB and Oracle database
Demonstrated experience in entire application development process, design/architecture documentation.
Demonstrated advanced experience in Object Oriented Design and development, Design Patterns and documenting detailed design documents using UML notation (eg class diagrams, physical data model)
Experience with JEE (J2EE) frameworks including Spring, Struts, JSF and Hibernate, JSP/Servlets, XML, and JDBC.
Experience with WebSphere, Universal content management system (UCM) and Oracle database
Experience with integrating with Mainframe preferable iSERIES/AS-400 (RPG, LANSA etc) and WebSphere/Oracle platform.
Experience with Jrules rules engine
Experience with security implementation for web based systems including (eg single sign on, role based security)
Excellent oral/written communication skills
Detail oriented, strong analytical skills and resourceful in issue resolution
Able to work with others in a team-based environment
High motivation level and superior attention to detail
