Our renowned broadcasting client is seeking a Researcher to undertake an initial six month contract from their West London site leading and communicating the strategic direction of one of their gambling programming operations.

The successful applicant will assist the production team to deliver first class live and pre-recorded programming, the Researcher will contribute ideas for programmes, source contacts and contributors and collect verify and prepare information ready for the productions. The Researcher will also organise, plan and research everything that will happen during the programme: including guests, subject matter, location and talent. Other responsibilities also include fact checking, writing briefs for presenters and ensuring that there is adherence to appropriate legislation relating to the production.

A key part of this role will be working with the Line Producer and the channel Producer, managing key internal and external relationships with Broadcast Operations, Marketing, Product Development and Programme Traffic.

The Researcher must possess creativity, a strong level of gambling/poker knowledge, enthusiasm, a high level of communication, leadership, listening and interpersonal skills.

This opportunity could be seen as an apprenticeship for the producer role and a chance for ambitious recruits to demonstrate their potential within a large broadcasting organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting and researching all the preparation and production of live and pre-recorded programming and running orders.
  • Working alongside the Producer to develop the look and feel of show formats and manage the implementation of required changes and developments, including generating and developing new programme ideas, plus ideas for competitions and interacting with the views across a variety of social media platforms
  • Actively participating in the delivery of agreed promotional and programming content in line with the strategic commercial agreed goals.
  • Managing internal relationships, especially with the Line Producer, Marketing, Customer Services and product development to ensure a shared understanding of requirements and effective utilisation of resources.
  • Meeting with Line Producer, Producer, Director and Talent to discuss the research needs of a programme
  • Providing research to production staff in a clear, concise format and tracking down images/stills, film, archive and video tapes, including clearance of all copyrights and broadcasting rights.
  • Assessing contributors' suitability for the programme, researching and booking appropriate people and locations
  • Booking resources and facilities including post production
