Job description
The Business Analyst TaCIT should support the IM&T Manager in execution of their role and work in full partnership to translate business strategy into IT strategies and plans. Through Business Analysis and Consultancy, identify and frame new and improvement opportunities.

Skills required
Support the IM&T Manager in framing strategic discussions with Business Stakeholders. Represent the IM&IT Manager as required.
Support delivery of value to the business through IT investment planning and development of Business KPIs.
Support Business Demand management and planning/forecasting
Clarifying the business strategy and the role that IT will play in achieving growth opportunities as well as improving the effectiveness and performance of business processes;
Understand Business Strategy, Business processes & Information needs to exploit IT and deliver value. Use Business Analysis and Consultancy skills to identify and frame new and improvement opportunities.
Business Change Enabler for Effective use of Information and IT
Support in identification and maturation of Business IT Opportunities through Business Planning and Business Vertical Delivery, including sponsor ship and funding, and continuous IT benefit realization and reporting
Champion Innovations from TACIT (and elsewhere) with business stakeholders. Identify opportunities to apply innovations in their business areas. Be a constructive change agent for deployment of technology strategy across the enterprise.
Support the IM&T Manager in Cost Planning Management and Recovery for the relevant Scope.
Supports Business to manage exceptional escalations for operational delivery issues."

Understands information risk management
Educated to a degree level, likely in an information technology or business specialty.

Has a practical understanding of business and data analysis.

Has a good working knowledge of the organisation's policies, management structure and business objectives, and of the existing IT portfolio and infrastructure. A proven knowledge of data and information as it relates to the business.

Can communicate effectively to business users and stakeholders. Has demonstrated stakeholder management skills.

Has in depth knowledge of at least one specific IT/IM area and business and a broad understanding across a wide field along with a record of applying such knowledge successfully in a variety of situations.

Has broad current knowledge of IT/IM standards, applications, and trends.

Has conducted feasibility studies and analysis of options for IT-enabled change."

Project or department description
Technical and Competitive IT (TaCIT) has been established to provide enterprise wide IT Technology leadership, including innovation, across Upstream, Downstream and Projects & Technology. It was created within the Projects and Technology business, emphasizing the important role IT solutions play in enabling and driving technology eg through technology deployment. This will strengthen our ability to leverage our differentiating technology for the whole Shell organisation more effectively and increase the technology penetration thereof resulting in value add for the businesses. We aim to further enhance Shella's position as the frontrunner in New Technologies. People coming from multiple skill pools (Geosciences, Petroleum Engineering, Engineering, Manufacturing and IT ) will be critical to its success. TaCIT will amongst others be responsible for IT portfolios covering Subsurface & Wells, Technical Data Management, Engineering, Supply Optimisation, as well as the process control and Real Time domains of Production and Manufacturing and Customer Value Technology.

Within TaCIT, P&T CIO manages the provision of value add and cost effective IM & IT services to the Projects & Technology organisation, ensuring that IM & IT services and investments support business strategies and priorities, service levels are consistently met, and new IM/IT investments are delivered on time and on budget. P&T is predominantly a knowledge based organisation with challenges centered around high performance computing, information and knowledge management, support for R&D laboratory activities and major capital projects.
