Our global Oil and Gas client is seeking a GIS Systems Manager to join their project team in Iraq.
The GIS Systems Manager will be responsible for the following;
Managing and coordinating all programs and activities of GIS functions, includes providing technical assistance and enhancement of programs.
Supervise, plan, coordinate, and direct the work of the GIS development as well as variety of data development, data maintenance and migrations.
Organise GIS survey work and acquire GIS data.
Training GIS department staff and staff from other departments when necessary.
The GIS Systems Manager will have;
Minimum of master degree in GIS, engineer, computer science, natural science or a related field.
10+ years` experience in enterprise GIS system.
Team work oriented and be able to work with wide range of people from different countries and cultural backgrounds
Extensive understanding and knowledge of GIS systems, including GIS data, their metadata, geospatial database, geospatial data fusion, desktop GIS, web and mobile GIS application, future trend and development as well as some of the most popular platforms, such as ArcGIS and open source platforms.
Deep understanding of following platforms: Erdas Imagine, ESRI ArcGIS (including ArcMap, ArcSDE, ArcObject, ArcIMS, Image Server, ArcGIS Server, MosaicDataset), GDAL
Understand and know-how to manipulate/process various GIS data, including data gathering, QA/QC, editing, geodatabase creation and management, and metadata building
Be able to capture business requirements and coordinate software development teams
Be able to coordinate with program stakeholders and translate technical concepts into layman`s terms
Experience in developing GIS desktop, web and mobile applications
Experience in MS Visual Studio, silverLight, Oracle database, MS SQL Server, Python, model builder and batch processing
