Description

The primary objective of the post is to secure wayleaves and necessary permissions required for the delivery of capital projects on existing and proposed distribution infrastructure developments and renewables connections. To provide day-to-day specialist wayleave management and record and manage distribution operational assets. The post holder must ensure compliance with Company Policy, particularly Grantor's Charter, contractual obligations and statutory regulations. The role also includes wayleave project Management

  • Contribute as an effective member of the Distribution Wayleave Team.
  • Develop and coordinate the provision of consents and wayleaves including the proposals for the effective services provision to support the delivery of distribution and renewables Connection in respect of overhead and underground projects.
  • Continually maximise productivity through monitoring of work processes and outputs.
  • Deliver output units as agreed with line manager in order to meet delivery targets.
  • Ensure grantors are contacted in terms of grantors charter.
  • Acquisition of permanent rights in respect of distribution assets.
  • Agreeing temporary and permanent access arrangements with grantors and affected parties.
  • Liaison between land owners/occupiers and staff/contractors to progress projects
  • Management of damage and compensation claims.
  • Change of ownerships.
  • Project Management.
  • Supervision of contract wayleave staff
  • Compliance with the performance management process

Knowledge of the following:

  • Electricity Act (as amended by Utilities Act 2000).

  • Planning Regulations.
  • Health, Safety and Environmental Regulations.
  • Agricultural and forestry practices.
  • Wayleave valuation and payment rates.
  • Distribution assets and construction methods.
  • Compensation code
  • Awareness of Wayleave Policies .
  • Awareness of Grantor's Charter.

  • Ensure delivery without compromising on safety and company policies and procedures.
  • Effective Project Management to ensure delivery.
  • Prepare relevant information related to obtaining necessary wayleaves.
  • Ability to represent SP Energy Networks at meetings and Public Enquiries.
  • Planning of new distribution routes in conjunction with engineers, environmental and other relevant parties.
  • Preparation of relevant information related to obtaining compulsory consents, compulsory purchase orders and serving of notices.
  • The postholder will have a requirement to respond to a number of different challenges in this role.
