9 month plus contract for a Sr. IT QA Test Analyst.

Duties include:

Act as a Lead in the more complex feature/new product testing and software/hardware integration testing for two or more systems, focusing on stress, volume and timing related performance testing. Develop test plans and test most complex new feature functionality which provides new products and services, and includes performance related items which enhance systems flexibility, reliability and maintainability. Perform most complex integration, stress/volume and performance testing on new software integration components. Review software/vendor documentation to ensure feature functionality requirements are delivered correctly from a performance level. Lead and perform applicable performance related testing. Provide validation and traceability that stated requirements and specifications are validated in tests and test results and develop and implement new test cases for performance validation. Perform standards verification in increasingly complex testing environments.

Manage vendors or other departmental groups to ensure goals and objectives are met. Train and develop lower level employees. Conduct workshops to transfer knowledge to the other relevant team members. Assist developers in second level resolution for trouble escalation. Negotiate with vendors concerning software/hardware matters of feature functionality and delivery. Ensure the quality of new software and hardware does not negatively impact our customers from an application's performance perspective.

Ensure that test schedules and plans are followed and executed properly. Ensure assigned testing system problems are documented, assigned, communicated, and appropriately resolved, including tracking reports for software and hardware validation. Verify resolution of resolved defects and participate in root cause analysis of reported defects

Manage the test environments. Ensure test environments and conditions are such that testing and test results are reliable and not corrupted by external factors. Perform periodic inspection of test environments/conditions. Develop procedures for testing and test environments. Perform verification that these are being executed properly.

Experienced in mechanized testing tools and platforms (HPQC, Win Runner, LoadRunner);

Demonstrated test script/scenario/case development;

Demonstrated understanding of System and Performance testing;

Must have a working knowledge of quality assurance methodologies;

Familiarity with system architecture and database analysis;

Good communication and writing skills and e xperience preparing and presenting reports to multiple levels of management.

Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college/university and 7-9 years experience or other equivalent combination.

Preferred skills:
Demonstrated electric utility project experience. Specific areas of expertise include: Smart Grid, AMI/MDMS/UIQ, Demand Response, Field Deploy, Telecommunications, and CMMI & SDLC methodologies.
