Description

To deliver effective and efficient operational support for computing systems and network environment.
  • Successfully process the working schedules of the core applications and maintain data security of all key systems by ensuring all backups are successfully completed
  • Monitor systems to identify any process, which may disrupt performance, which in turn will interrupt the successful completion of all scheduled processing
  • Tasks as per daily schedules (day/night)
  • Backups and monitoring of backup logs
  • Monitoring of database and system logs
  • Perform restores on various systems accordance with Service requests and procedures
  • Shift logs - report of all issues/problems that occurred on each shift
  • Prepare and send Start of Day report
  • Complete Daily schedule
  • Contact Vendors for maintenance on hardware systems
  • Promptly notify relevant personnel in the event of a system or application difficulty that cannot be immediately resolved to ensure the completion of processing
  • Provide High quality and responsive service
  • Understand and satisfy customer requirements within established guidelines
  • Flexible, responsive and result focused
  • Updating the procedural documentation with new procedures when implemented
  • Creating new procedures where required
  • Updating procedures when tasks are no longer required

Key requirements:

  • Experience in Unix operations - IBM AIX
  • Experience in Windows Backup exec
  • Working knowledge of common PC applications
  • Experience in working shifts - 12hr/8hr
  • Ability to work without supervision
  • Solid experience in Operations
