Next Ventures are currently executing a search for a skilled Database Administrator DBA for an exciting programme in Central Copenhagen city center. This is a 6 months role with a a strong option to extend.

Job description/Overall position description with general areas of responsibility listed:
Role Related Responsibilities Include:
( Working with and supporting individual project teams to help setup and support the deployment framework, which will builds, updates and deploys their database schemas into the different environments.
Helping to support the standardization of the deployment frameworks and quality gateways to ensure consistency and reusability across the various platforms.
Working with the infrastructure that supports and deliveries all parts of the technology stack via automatic deployment methods.
Occasionally to work directly with vendors in order to resolve technical issues.
Keeping databases up to date and updating the required documentation.
Helping with database design and development.
Managing database access.
Provide input for maintenance procedures and putting them into operation.
Review data requirements and ensuring that they meet individual project requirements.
Managing database security/integrity and backup procedures.
Implementing security measures.
Testing and modifying databases to ensure that they operate reliably.
Providing input on the implementation of disaster recovery plans and implementing them.

Specific Tasks to be performed during the engagement/Key Deliverables/Milestones :
Key Technical Skills and Competencies:
Database Administration skills:
Oracle Database version 11g management including RAC, DG, ASM and security.
keeping databases up to date;
OEM including health check of database infrastructures.
Knowledge about discussion of service requests with Oracle Support.
Continuous Integration and Automated Deployment skills:
We use the following tools to support our deployment process: Subversion, Git, Ant, Maven, Hudson. Familiarity with any of them is desirable.
Database revision management
Development performance tuning
Experience with live in production deployments

Programming skills:
Advanced Oracle DDL/DML SQL Scripting
PL/SQL programming
Query performance tuning
Server Technology skills (understanding):
Weblogic Server & Portal, JBoss, Oracle Service Bus, Oracle Business Process Manager, ILOG JRules, Apache
Operating System skills:
Linux, Solaris, Windows
Development Model & Tools:
Confluence, JIRA, Agile, Scrum, Kanban

Note: The team is managed using the agile/scrum method. The candidate will have worked in a similar development type environment ideally.

Detail oriented in such a way that allows for capture and translation of both process and technical information into necessary documentation.
Good communication skills and proficient in English, both verbally and written.
