Description
Resource 1 is in need of an IBM Cobol Developer for a 6-12 month contract in Rosemont, IL. Individual will join a development team responsible for maintenance programming and developing new functionality for a large, complex application system in Cobol on an IBM Mainframe. The project will initially focus on making numerous code changes (Cobol) to accommodate the growth/expansion of the company/system. CICS experience is a plus for Cobol transactions. Individual must be senior level with minimal supervision required. Developer will be involved in all phases of development, from analysis/design to coding. The majority of the programs will be Cobol batch, with a few being on-line (CICS). Individual should have a solid understanding and hands-on experience with various IBM technologies, including Cobol, JCL, TSO, FILE-AID, ABEND-AID and XPEDITOR. Experience working with a relational databases (SQL-based) is a big plus for this position.
