Project description
Take responsibility to ensure the end-to-end application availability and performance of applications.
-Resolve all severity levels of incidents in a timely fashion in order to ensure business continuity and meet SLA requirements.
-Work with primary banks, vendors, business focal points, and across multiple business units/support functions to perform proactive and reactive tasks to solve incidents and problems.
-Execute root cause analysis on recurring issues, and provide and implement solutions to prevent these.
-Be able to summarize complex technical and financial matters in clear and structured overviews.
-Produce high quality deliverables in terms of both content and presentation. Examples of deliverables include: system coding, change management documentation, reasoned arguments.
-Engage in mapping activities for new EDI and eBanking implementations.
-Engage in Unix and/or Perl Scripting activities for new EDI and eBanking implementations.
-Partake in existing practices to ensure updates to the application environments do not adversely affect the existing operations.
-Demonstrate an understanding of the issues of interest to the client organisation and propose viable solutions within the scope of own expertise, taking into account the needs of those affected.
-Participate in defining test plans and criteria; perform evaluation of test results, coordinate, monitor and support of implementations.
-Interface with Application Specialist and Application Technical Specialist to ensure complex issues are being worked upon appropriately.
-Work with Application specialists and other Application Technical Specialists to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Experience and Qualifications required
Technical:
- Knowledge and experience of Middleware related technologies: eg EDI/EDIFACT/XML and GXS applications such as Application Integrator, BizManager and Tradeguide.
-Knowledge and experience of UNIX/Linux OS and related Scripting languages (PERL/KSH).
-Experience in application support, (preferably in a Financial, Banking or Treasury environment). Candidate with background knowledge on oil&gas processes and terms will have added advantage.
-Understanding of financial processing, payment types, SWIFT, international banking.
-Experience with banking processes in various ERP systems (SAP/SUN/JDE) will have added advantage.
-Demonstrates good interpersonal skills in dealing with users, service providers and colleagues.
-Deonstrates good analytical skills and is driven to resolve complex issues.
-Ability to work under pressure and to priorities issues when working on several issues simultaneously.
