Responsibilities:
- Create high quality solutions through the use of a disciplined approach to the Software development life cycle
- Detailed planning, estimation and completing tasks as planned
- Providing 3rd level support of core system applications, participation in a roster for After Hours support
- Knowledge management
- Liaise with business process owners to keep them informed of development status
- Actively identify and Resolve issues impacting our customers
- Participate in regularly updating the Development Plan created as part of the yearly performance review
- Coaching & mentoring of team members knowledge sharing of system and technology
- Co-ordination of small teams for project delivery
- Identification and implementation of improvement opportunities across process and technology
- Optimisation of systems
- Creative and efficient solutions to our customer's problems
- Research the latest technology that can improve on current and future solutions we create
- Application of new technology
- AS400, RPG expert level developer
- Knowledge of multiple operating systems
- Strong problem analysis skills
- Expertise in multiple programming environments and languages
- Understanding of Software development methodologies
- Ability to independently complete each stage of the Software Development Lifecycle
- Demonstrates ownership of issues
- Self-motivated, proactive and shows initiative
- An innovative and creative approach to decision making and problem solving
- Lead small teams to achieve outcomes
- Actively shares knowledge with others.
