Unix System Engineer
The Unix System Engineer supports and assists efforts to research, design and plan and maintains capabilities and executes on basic or routine tasks related to systems analysis, Scripting, developing solutions to support Unix hardware and Software technology components.
Qualifications
- Knowledgeable in Unix server operating systems (focus on Solaris and Red Hat Enterprise Linux).
- U nderstands installation, configuration, and maintenance of Solaris including zones/containers, ZFS, and server creation.
- Recognizes and troubleshoots problems with server hardware and applications software,
- K/nowledge of Oracle databases and their interaction with the Solaris Operating System.
- S/he establishes and documents standards and procedures for management review.
- R equires extensive knowledge of computer operations and familiarity with Shell and Perl Scripting.
- Ex perience in other infrastructure domains such as storage (SAN/NAS), networking and security is expected.
- College degree or 0-2 years of experience; technology certification preferred (ie Windows, Citrix, Storage, Unix hardware, ITIL, etc.)
