Description

Vehicle Technician required to be part of a highly adaptable team of technicians who support trials, rectification, warranty tasks, and perform engineering upgrades to vehicles. It will involve working within a technician roster which operates 7 days a week and out of normal working hours. There may be UK travel required.

Typical activities will include:
Technical focal point for all vehicle related matters including modifications, Post Design Services (PDS), technical training and defect reporting.
Assess warranty faults and recommend rectification procedures.
Assist in training new team members.
Work with design/project engineers to develop optimised engineered solutions.
Carrying out general mechanical technician duties as required.
Perform business support administration (job cards, timesheets, procurement of equipment, stocktaking collect and report data etc).

The successful candidate will have the below skills:
The candidate should have a proven history as an experienced technician fitting, modifying and diagnosing faults in accordance with design specifications. The individual should be self motivated and able to work on own initiative and is customer focused.
Demonstrable knowledge of automotive systems and how they work together.
Team player who is customer focussed.
IT literate.
Flexible.
Reliable.
Able to drive and use of a car.
Minimum qualification requirement:
Time served apprenticeship.
NVQ and/or City & Guilds Level 3 in a vehicle mechanics based course.
Highly Desirable Skills:
Experience of working on military vehicles.
Experience of working on vehicle trials.
Candidates must be willing to undergo a security vetting procedure.
