OVERVIEW:
You are a senior technical resource that provides expertise and leads all aspects of SharePoint, aiding the implementation along with the ongoing maintenance and support. You'll have expertise and experience in envisioning, implementing and governance of SharePoint and SharePoint based applications. You're well-rounded and have a solid understanding across the SharePoint spectrum in areas including Portal, Content Management, Search, Governance, and integration with external applications like Microsoft Office, Exchange and Open Text. You will leverage our business knowledge and solution expertise to effectively integrate packaged technologies into business applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deep understanding of SharePoint technologies and related areas. Solid experience in versions 2007 and 2010.
  • Conducts audits of work products and processes to ensure standards and best practices are followed.
  • Interacts with all groups within IT to ensure that project objectives are met.
  • Interacts with other departments to define project requirements.
  • Defines, documents, and performs configuration changes and identifies potential programming modifications necessary to meet the business requirements.
  • Provides strategy for SharePoint content and the use of SharePoint in various areas within the organization.
  • Provides oversight to less experienced Analysts or business users as required.
  • Updates tickets with status and sends email notifications timely and accurately.
  • Responds to e-mails and v-mails in an appropriate timeframe.
  • Participates in change management and release management activities.
  • Resolves and troubleshoots solution defects, including interface support, debugging, and functional support within the assigned functional area as necessary.
  • Collaborates with all levels of the organization on project schedules, risks, and issues relating to the assigned modules within functional area.
  • Works with Business Users and IT Team members to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Analyzes business needs to determine future technical requirements.
  • Keeps project leadership and stakeholders informed of progress on tasks and issues requiring follow-up.
  • Participates in the test planning and performs testing activities (including unit, integration and user acceptance testing).
  • Provides guidance and expertise relating to the assigned module(s) of the functional area for the set up and support of Production and non-Production environments.
  • Records time in record keeping system accurately and timely.
  • Participates in all requirements for achieving team goals.
  • Complies with all corporate and department policies and procedures.
  • Provides after hours support if required.
  • Travels as required to fulfil assigned tasks.
  • Establishes and manages the scope and quality of the areas of their responsibility
  • Maintains strict observance of all requirements of the support framework and project management processes

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other IT field required; Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of overall IT work experience
  • Minimum 5 years of Microsoft SharePoint experience in both development and configuration areas required
  • Working knowledge of related technologies such as: SQL Server 200x, Internet Information Server, Microsoft .NET, Active Directory, Document Management, Microsoft Office desktop application integration with SharePoint
  • Working knowledge of change control and release management processes
  • Working knowledge of project management methodologies and practices
  • Working knowledge of the Remedy ticketing software or software providing similar functionality to resolve incidents
  • Familiarity with Open Text or Open Text solutions for SharePoint a plus
  • Experience working with external search technologies a plus
