Description
The individual in this role will be responsible for providing secure, reliable, effective, efficient, and recoverable database environments. Insures correct operation of the database environments including physical database design, security, backups and restores, reorganizations, and overall database performance. Provides root cause analysis of database system issues. Maintains database standards, controls, procedures, and documentation. Will also provide high level technical support for all database users.
Qualifications Education/Credentials:
- Bachelor Degree (computer science degree preferred) or Equivalent
Experience:
- 7 or more years of experience as a Database Administrator working with Microsoft SQL Server products and third party supporting monitoring and diagnostic products.
Well developed technical knowledge of:
- Microsoft SQL Server installation
- Microsoft SQL Server (versions ) database product and utility tool set
- Redgate SQL Backup Pro (desirable) and Redgate SQL Compare Pro (desirable)
- Microsoft T-SQL programming language
- SQL Server performance management and tuning including tools similar to the following: Idera, Quest Systems Toad, SQL Sentry, Redgate SQL Response
- Transformation of a logical database model to a physical database
- Microsoft premier support services
- Microsoft Team Foundation Server (desirable)
- SQL replication and mirroring
- SQL SSIS development
