Description
Our client is the leading virtual storage solutions corporation currently offering a great contract opportunity for a candidate with working knowledge of a Brocade Fabric-Based encryption solution using Brocade Encryption Blades in DCX Director, and Brocade Encryption Switches to:
- Assist with implementation where necessary (although there are specific Brocade services for base Encryption deployment)
- Perform fabric health checks to ensure SAN health and compatibility for the solution
- Be proficient with Brocade-Based SAN Zoning, with the ability to determine HA health of the SAN including hosts multi-pathing
- Be the interface to client and partners when issues arise to assist in problem determination (data collections, logs, etc), and coordinate the efforts of the partners working the resolution
- Provide knowledge transfer to customer staff for on-going support and management of the solution
- Knowledge of the solution interface to the RSA Key Managers, and the role of the RKM in general will be a plus
GENERAL SCOPE:
- Provides proactive recommendations to the customer for improving storage operations and/or effective use of client storage solutions to help maximize their satisfaction
- Responsible for performing daily operational tasks like storage provisioning and maintaining availability at the customer site(s)
- Provisions storage based on standardized procedures as outlined by client best practice documentation
- Participates in the execution of the business continuance and disaster recovery plans as agreed upon by the client and the customer
- Participates in the design and operational execution of the customer's storage disaster recovery process as required
- Performs necessary storage infrastructure maintenance in accordance with change management policies
- Represents the client in a professional manner to customers, partners and other personnel at all times
- May be required to support and instruct less experienced co-workers, through classroom training sessions or on-the-job mentoring
- Works productively with minimal supervision
- Considered an expert in the implementation and use of storage solutions
- Knowledgeable of industry best practices in the implementation of complex storage environments
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with Sales, TS and external customers
- Participates in the continual review and improvement of existing operational policies and procedures in compliance with client storage management best practices
- Performs other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 6-8 years of direct experience in a highly technical role, preferably with a storage focus
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- Must have admin skills for Symmetrix and CLARiiON platforms
- EMC Proven Professional Specialist level certification
- Proficiency with multiple operating systems including Windows, Unix, Linux, HPUX, AIX, VMware ESX
- Knowledge of the technical aspects of hardware/software subject matter.
- Ability to work in a cross-functional role spanning many disciplines at a customer site
- Training experience a plus
- Ability to be a technical knowledge resource for the client and on-site customer colleagues
- Familiarity with backup technologies and techniques
