System Integration
In the context of one of our assignments in Luxembourg, we are currently looking for an IT and System Integration specialistRole: The supported Windows operating systems and core software application packages have to be integrated, resulting in Reference Configurations for desktops, laptops, Servers and Terminal Servers. These Reference Configurations are produced at regular intervals.
Reference Configurations are largely, but not entirely, hardware independent. Every release therefore needs to be validated on all supported hardware platforms.
Automated system installation procedures for Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows Server 2003 have to be developed further and maintained.
It is frequently required to develop specific procedures or tools to facilitate the installation, configuration and deployment of the Reference Configurations (eg using PowerShell, VBscript or .NET).
The technical documentation of the Reference Configuration is crucial, comprising release notes, user guides, documentation of procedures etc.
Existing Reference Configurations must be maintained, with regards to service packs, operating system updates, security bulletins and subsequent application releases. This is achieved through "Upgrade Kits", which allow aligning existing installations with the latest Reference Configuration release.
Second level technical support needs to be provided for the existing Reference Configurations and system installation procedures, including problem diagnosis, resolution and reporting via the Central Helpdesk. The support is organised in an ITIL-compliant manner.
Installation and configuration of Servers, Terminal Servers, workstations and laptops. Required knowledge and skills: Proven experience in the abovementioned tasks is essential
Very good knowledge of Microsoft installation technologies (MSI) and related tools (eg InstallShield), or of Microsoft Application Virtualization (App-V) and related tools.
Good knowledge of the Microsoft Windows operating systems family (Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2003).
Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office products family (Office 2010, Office 2003), of Internet Explorer (IE9, IE8), and of managing application parameters using policies (local policies, GPOs).
Good knowledge of common Microsoft Scripting languages (eg PowerShell, VBscript) and programming languages (eg C++, C#, VB.NET, etc ...).
Expertise in software production and management and in software documentation and reporting.
Familiarity with software distribution tools (eg LANDesk).
English and/or French (spoken), technical writing skills in English and/or French.
Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings (English and French spoken), ease of communication in technical matters.
Certification of ITIL for service delivery and service support is considered an asset.We offer: Freelance contract or Permanent contract
