RAN Design Engineer

Description

For one of the mobile network operators (MNO) in the Netherlands, we are recruiting for a Senior 3G Design Architect/Engineer who is capable of handling parameter and feature introduction projects.

Ex perience with Ericsson 3G Capacity & Performance related parameters and counters is a must-have'.

Role/Tasks

• Daily capacity management of RNC load;
• Produce High Level & Low Level designs or contribute to cross domain designs, like RNC expansions, replacements or BSC phase outs;
• As a designer, participate in and contribute to RAN Soft- and Hardware upgrade projects (implement and/or verification of new software releases);
• Contribute and deliver feature introductions and parameter changes in the UTRAN (New Technology Introductions);
• As a designer participate in and contribute to Pilot of Trial projects;
• As a designer, provide support to the roll-out process of SDU Network Deployment;

• 5-7 Years Technical experience with UTRAN Software Design (Ericsson 3G/HSPA preferred)
• Advanced understanding of Wireless Network Architecture, Technologies , concepts and standards ( eg 3GPP, ITU-T).
• Operational experience in Optimization and Performance within UTRAN.
• Experience in Capacity improvements in RNC's/NodeB's.
• Profound knowledge of 3G handover and reselection parameters.
• Experience in High Level Capacity Planning and Network Evolution Planning.
• Thorough understanding of strategies to evolve an existing network for the future demands.
