Senior QA Engineer/Galway
Our client is a world leading mutual fund management organisation and they are looking for a Senior QA Engineer to join their ever growing team.

QA Engineer Profile:
The function you would be part of supports the core management and research of the company business through the provision of technology platforms and services. The team is currently expanding its global presence by growing technology teams in the US, Ireland and India. They provide key technology skills in the development of software platforms. They wish to do this by hiring the best people, by thoroughly understanding business requirements, by applying the latest technology and by partnering with colleagues in the US and India.
This project will specifically focus on designing and building a trade execution engine to execute trades in the market for Fixed Income trading.

This QA testing role will focus on the full functional testing life cycle for various functional application testing initiatives for a trade confirmation platform. This includes defining test strategies, developing test plans, creation of test cases, test execution, and results reporting. Responsibilities will also include working closely with a US-based Business Analysis team for requirements definition.

This role requires strong attention-to-detail, analytical skills, organizational skills, and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with developers, business analysts, and system administrators. Detailed knowledge of the mutual fund business and/or trading is desired. The successful candidate will join a talented team working with cutting edge technologies in an exciting business domain and to participate in a highly visible, strategic project for Fixed Income Trading Services.

Requirements:
* Bachelor or Master's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
* 5+ years experience with the full spectrum of functional Quality Assurance testing and systems development life cycles a must.
* Experience with testing management utilizing HP's Quality Center including defect tracking, reporting and metrics.
* Knowledge of the Financial Services and Mutual Fund industry is ideal.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Skill with SQL as a data mining tool.
* Experience working with Unix.
* A leader with a collaborative work style.
* Ability to work autonomously and in a team.
* Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fluid organization where priorities shift to respond to changing business needs.
* Experience with developing automated test cases via HP's QTP Professional product.
* Understanding of service oriented architecture (SOA).
* Role may involve some travel outside Ireland.

Additional skills desired, but not required:
* Experience with functional test execution utilizing an Agile development methodology.
* Detailed knowledge of investing concepts and various investment vehicles.
* Experience working on trading systems.
* Experience working with an off-shore clients.
* Understanding of a generic trading system data model.
* Experience in the following areas: XML, Java, .Net, Web Services and familiarity with MS SQL Server and database concepts.

Responsibilities:
* Accountable for quality of the project deliverables.
* Collaborate with the QA organization for definition and execution of overall QA strategies and standards -performance, functional & E2E.
* Creation of test plans and corresponding test cases to ensure thorough testing of business requirements in a fast-paced Agile environment.
* Test case execution, defect documentation and tracking and regression through all system tiers.
* Proactively communicating with developers and business analysts to resolve issues or questions pertaining to test creation or execution.
* Identify and effectively document a suite of test cases suitable for an automated regression test suite.
* Automate identified regression test cases through VB Scripting in QTP (not "record and click").
* Drive defect management for the solution. Monitor defects for various SLA compliances (acknowledgement, fix etc).
* Develop, implement and maintain the quality plan and contribute to program risk identification & mitigation strategies and issue resolution.
* Accurate and timely status reporting with Manager, including issues prohibiting progress when appropriate.
