Our client is currently seeking an Infrastructure Architect to join our client on an exciting contract opportunity. To be successful in this role you will have a strong wintel background working background within a large enterprise environment. The technologies you will be strong across is Microsoft, VMware, Linux and Solaris.
Responsibilities:
You will we required to advise on architectural decisions and best practices. Evaluate and analyze the current architectures, make recommendations for infrastructure architecture redesign and changes to improve overall system performance and maintainability. Provide technical guidance on proposals for infrastructure solutions. You will provide technical guidance in troubleshooting of infrastructure solution problems. Experience defining tools, processes, develop detailed bill of materials with hardware and software cost modelling; Demonstrated ability to develop integrated solutions, with focus on midrange, network, enterprise systems management, and virtualization.
Skills and Requirements:
- At least 5+ years experience in with design and implementation of large scale enterprise wide infrastructure architectures involving storage and Microsoft technologies
- Has worked solidly within Microsoft, Linux and Solaris based infrastructure technologies,
- Provide Technical solutions and their trends, best infrastructure design and implementation practices
- Australian citizenship required
- English: Fluent
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology
- At least 3 years experience in with implementation of infrastructure virtualization technologies (vmware and others),
- working with senior technical leadership as technical advisor
- Hosting/Server Consolidation Experience with RHEL
- Demonstrated technical leadership in designing, implementing and maintaining solutions for complex technical environments hosting variety of business applications and large databases,
- At least 5 years experience in Hosting/Server Consolidation Experience with RHEL
- At least 3 years experience in working with DB2 or Oracle based applications
- At least 3 years experience in with Thin Client provisioning and virtual desktop deployments
- At least 2 years experience in with MS Exchange/Sharepoint
- Must activly hold Security clearance
- Certifications in Microsoft, VMware and any other relevant technologies will be highly regarded
