They are going through a critical upgrade of PeopleSoft HRMIS version 8.8 to 9.1 and require an Oracle DBA to maintain the underlying database whilst the upgrade takes place.
Your role will encompass the following responsibilities:
- Ensure efficient and effective operation and administration of approved databases, related database management systems and software products.
- Develop and maintain standards, procedures and programmes to ensure the integrity and security of approved databases.
- Monitor the performance of the databases and take appropriate action to optimise both database and application availability and response times.
- Provide technical guidance and advice to application development teams, project managers and IT services providers as required.
- Liaise with IT Service Providers and customers in relation to Database systems and associated software and resolution of technical problems.
- Provide strategy and direction for the database management environment
- 7 years experience as a DBA with specialist Oracle Database 11g skills
- Experience in Unix/Linux environments - Scripting with Perl, Korn.
- Experience in Gridcontrol
- Experience in Automatic Storage Management in Oracle Database 11g
- Extensive knowledge of PL/SQL stored procedures.
- Proven experience in development and implementation of operational standards and procedures for database systems and programming environments.
- Understanding of change control and management processes.
- Ideally you will have experience with Peoplesoft application
