Our client was the pioneer and remains the world leader in online travel services technology. Currently this company has an excellent contract opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer.
OVERVIEW:
- Design and implement highly scalable, and reliable services, objects, compute nodes
- Translate functional specifications into logical, component-based technical designs
- Be capable of solving business problems using business terms with deep technical proficiency
- Interact with Program Managers and Test Engineers to achieve successful delivery of a solution
- Write extensive unit tests to achieve a high quality result in the code produced
- Contribute to leading the team by bringing architectural and design expertise to discussions and debates
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 5 years of experience developing software applications
- 4+ years of experience with C# development with a strong understanding of high performance techniques
- Familiarity and experience with C++ nice to have
- At least one year of XML experience required
- Extensive experience with design concepts, design patterns, development frameworks and SOA architectures, writing services and clients required
- Experience with Windows OS required
- Experience with and ability to write and run SQL queries required
- Strong experience with algorithms and data structures, Multithreading, concurrency, caching and scalable/distributed systems
- Nice to have mature understanding of production environments and resolving high priority issues impacting revenue
- Strong experience with caching designs and solutions
- Knowledge and experience with agile/iterative and object-oriented methodologies, notations, and processes
- Highly self-managed but experienced at engaging leadership to discuss strategies
- Highly articulate, able to discuss design options constructively while in heavy debate
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines with attention to detail
- Passionate and dynamic, adaptable to change, strong communication skills to be able to defend approach or position, enjoys challenges
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline preferred
This contract position is expected to be 6 months in duration.
