The Sr. Wintel Engineer reports to the Director of Application Architecture and Delivery and is responsible for the planning and design of core Windows Server Systems using industry best practices. Additionally, the Sr. Wintel Engineer will provide technical guidance and oversight for mission-critical Application, Core Infrastructure, and Virtualization projects in the Wintel area.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research and recommend next generation technologies that align with the Wintel Enterprise road map
  • Participate in development of Windows strategy, including technology standardization and modernization
  • Review and advise on high-level design decisions to ensure proper integration of new solutions into the enterprise
  • Provide detailed documentation on system design and implementation
  • Proactively engage in Virtualization capacity planning and performance management
  • Provide leadership through example and knowledge sharing

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related area and a minimum of ten years' experience in the IT field
  • Microsoft Certified IT Professional or MCSE preferred
  • Deep understanding of Windows Internals and system level debugging
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows 2003 server and Windows 2008 server knowledge required
  • Enterprise level Active Directory and Group Policy design
  • 3+ years' experience working with Exchange to include versions 2007 and 2010 as well as upgrading/migrating Exchange platforms
  • Experience with Cisco UCS preferred
  • Expertise with DNS, WINS and Windows networking protocols.
  • 5+ years real-world experience implementing large VMware virtual infrastructures
  • Windows Clustering: design, implementation, support and management
  • Scripting technologies and languages including but not limited to PERL, VBScript, PowerShell, Python
  • 3+ years of system administration experience with Microsoft SharePoint 2007 and 2010
  • High level of skills in the Microsoft tech stack, Server 2008, IIS7, SQL 2008R2, and .Net
  • Knowledge of storage technologies and prior experience with EMC platforms
  • TCP/IP and Internetworking architecture
  • Demonstrable experience automating complex tasks
  • Must have the capacity to be decisive and flexible
  • Possess strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Possess superior communications skills verbally and written

This contract position is expected to be 7 months in duration.
