We are recruiting for a Senior Quality Engineer to work in this exciting and fast paced business. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining the quality of products and processes in accordance with business, customer and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities include: -

  • Interfacing with internal and external customers on complex technical issues to facilitate improvements in concern response and concern resolution
  • Developing policies, procedures and inspection methods to ensure pro-active quality assurance targets are achieved to minimise quality escapes
  • Interfacing with supplier quality assurance to ensure robust corrective action, while leading practical problem solving activity for assigned projects
  • Auditing business management processes to ensure compliance of regulatory and statutory requirements
  • Ensuring quality tool training is maintained to all levels of the organisation
  • Essential Qualities include: -

  • Technical qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering to at least HNC level
  • Experience working at a Quality Assurance Engineer level within a Military and Aerospace or Automotive manufacturing environment
  • Practical experience of Quality Management System development and maintenance, as well as process improvement techniques
  • Experience managing customer accounts
  • Fully conversant in one or more of the following quality requirements: AS9100, TS16949 or ISO9001
  • PC literate including Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of quality tools (for example one or more of the following; FMEA, 8D, Control Plans, APQP/PPAP, Gauge R&R, etc)
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as on own initiative
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to train others
  • Desirable Qualities include: -

  • Experience working within an Aerospace prime/1st tier manufacturing environment
  • nternal auditor qualification in one or more of the following requirements: AS9100, TS16949 or ISO9001
  • Supplier development and project management experience
  • Working knowledge of Six Sigma
  • Knowledge and understanding of Military quality standards, including Mil-STD790
