- Conduct pre-studies (experiments, measurements) to verify ideas and adjust the software if necessary
- Work closely with the customer getting their requirements and study the feasibility
- Requires to work closely with other designers for refining the software.
- Estimate the time required and the cost involved
- Document the design and the test result for future modifications and maintenance
- Understand the various equipment configurations
