Job Title: Front- end Web Developer
Objectives
The web developer will be part of the delivery team and will be responsible for the development of online applications and templates to provide the required end to end customer proposition and journey online. This will include defining and developing Front End online interfaces, business logic and technical interfaces with the core systems and 3rd party strategic web partners
Key Tasks
Required experience - Technical
* Minimum of 3 years commercial experience developing with core web technologies such as HTML, CSS and Javascript with ability to differentiate display and performance issues when developing in different platforms (MAC, windows , mobile ) or for different browsers (Safari, IE, firefox.)
* Experience with AJAX, JSON and jQuery.
* Expert user of XML language, with ability to use template languages (XSL, CSS) and to develop and understand DTD.
* A good understanding of the different developments stages for the development of online projects.
* Expert user of working with cookies and other user tracking technologies.
* Expert user of working with applications and systems used by complex online infrastructures including online advertising Servers, email managements, reporting & tracking tools.
1. Web development and capability deployment
* Design and develop web applications that separate Back End end integration from business logic and presentation
* Implement the data structures and code required to read data feeds originated by web users, 3rd party content feeds, product and user information databases or any other data source required to support and deliver the business requirements
* To develop and maintain the online technical infrastructure including personalisation, content management, authentication and E-commerce systems
* To assist on the development and integration of Front End web interfaces and multimedia applications into the Back End systems and business logic layer. These interfaces will be targeted at different devices including PC, mobile & TV
* To use the appropriate (as per defined standards) methods, tools and processes for the planning, development, operation, management and maintenance of systems an d applications.
* To write technical specification documents describing systems and applications following industry and company standards.
* To write, deploy and implement development test plans
* To facilitate knowledge transfer into other technical users, site managers and business users
* To be proficient on all applications and systems used by the online department to assist end users in taking full advantage of those applications (advertising Servers, email, reporting, tracking, knowledge base)
* Keep up-to-date with developments in the industry
