Contract Manager required for a leading energy company to develop and implement contract strategies and lead the commercial aspects across a range of Business areas and types of renewable projects, predominantly wind farms to ensure that best value is delivered.

The key purposes of the role will be ensuring that requirements are sourced from suitable suppliers, negotiating appropriate contractual and commercial arrangements that fully consider the most appropriate risk allocation, and managing commercial and contractual activities both pre-contract and post-contract in compliance with purchasing processes.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Strong commercial contract and negotiation experience and experience of assisting in conclusion of complex transactions and transaction teams.
  • Strong self-performance management and delivery focus with the ability to balance conflicting requirements of quality, cost and time and make decisions in tight timescales.
  • Strong team worker and team builder.
  • Good all round understanding of financial, commercial and business principles and risk mitigation practices.
  • Strong influencing, interpersonal and change management skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all organisational levels.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to operate confidently with and influence up to senior management level.
  • Proven ability to persuade, challenge and build credibility both internally and externally.
  • Strong computer system skills.
  • Some experience of renewable energy projects beneficial.
