Description of Role/Responsibilities:
These .NET Developer positions are with a Fortune 500 client in Indianapolis that offers candidates the opportunity to work in a stable, fast paced environment with really challenging projects. These roles will have the opportunity to work on new technology in a mission critical, enterprise setting. While these roles are contract opportunities they are 1 year contracts with 1 year extensions available with also the opportunity to possibly be hired full time. These roles are available because they have over 90 different applications they currently support and there are at least 35 of them that are slated to be completely rewritten from Legacy code/Client Server applications to .Net, web based applications. There are senior and mid level roles available based on years of experience and technical ability. Someone who has a lot of internal motivation, attention to detail, follow through skills and who is a self starter would have success in these roles. People that are passionate about working on cutting edge technology with complex applications and high profile projects will thrive in this environment. It gives you the chance to work with outstanding, highly intelligent people in a fast paced environment. The systems that need to be recreated are highly complex systems and major Resume boosters!

Required Skills:

  • Must have at least 5 or more years experience as an application developer using ASP.NET, C# or VB.NET, and Visual Studio 2008 or higher
  • Strong understanding of RDBMS concepts and experience doing SQL 2005 and higher
  • Development as it relates to .NET applications including creating stored procedures and triggers, database design/administration
  • Excellent analytical, PC and problem solving skills required
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills
  • Candidate should possess strong skills in VB6
  • Experience participating in requirements gathering or JAD sessions
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Must be able to wear multiple hats as needed

Desired Skills:

  • Experience reverse engineering Legacy code and the ability to translate into new development efforts strongly desired
  • Experience rewriting a Client Server application into a web based application also strongly desired
  • Experience working within the healthcare and/or insurance/claim industry
  • Experience leading and mentoring others
  • Experience leading code and design reviews
