For this position with a world-renowned computer manufacturing company, you will be performing a wide variety of server support activities in a large-scale, high-performance computing environment.

OVERVIEW:

  • Primary support in a Lab environment, focus will be Linux OS and hardware break-fix
  • Secondary support for Data Center environment, focus will be on Windows Client and Server support
  • Netbatch implementation and support
  • Daily problem resolution on all OS's and hardware configurations
  • Troubleshoot and isolate lab network issues for escalation as needed
  • Support of current non-standard storage solution setup and maintenance

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Solid working knowledge of Linux OS's (Ubuntu, RedHat, SLES, Fedora, Debian, etc.)
  • Experience and skills to provide installation, configuration, troubleshooting, security and patching, installing apps on standard and non-standard hardware and OS configurations
  • General knowledge of how networks operate and basic troubleshooting of network issues
  • Understanding of DNS, DHCP, NIS, Active Directory, other
  • Strong hardware skills both client and server
  • Knowledge and understanding of "storage", such as Filers, NAS, SAN
  • Working knowledge of User and Account management (Windows and Linux)
  • Understanding of IIS and web services
  • Working knowledge of virtualization, eg VMware, EXSi or ESX, etc.
  • MSS and security compliance for all OS's
  • Strong customer engagement skills
  • Ability to provide sustainable support in and unsupervised environment

This contract position is expected to be 12 months in duration.
