SAP Finance/Non-technical Architect - Oil & Gas - Uxbridge - Contract

Location: Uxbridge, West London - Near Heathrow

My client, one of the world's leading oil and gas company, requires a SAP Finance/Non-technical Architect to join the companies business area, responsible for the scope and design of the end to end financial processes, in the companies SAP-based financial template and for key activities related to its deployment across a diverse set of businesses.

Duties:

  • Be a key contact for a deployment project - influencing and accommodating project team members and business users implementing the financials template through strong communication and presentation skills, and thorough business, financial and SAP process knowledge.
  • Delivering the design and specification of configuration, including prototyping when necessary, for new financial process and structure solutions to be included in the template, documentation of these, and assistance with their deployment to users.
  • Managing change control including business-case validation and approval of template change requests.
  • Support the continuous update and improvement of the finance business area training materials for the business user community

Requirements:

  • An undergraduate degree and/or relevant financial and/or business professional qualification (eg mainstream UK or US accounting qualification, MBA etc.).
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of Controlling & Profit-Center Accounting processes, functionality and configuration in SAP v4.7, ECC5 and ECC6. Basic understanding of Business Datawarehouse (BW) functionality and reporting capabilities would be useful.
  • Excellent general financial acumen, including a sound understanding of financial and accounting concepts, together with the ability to assimilate practical changes driven by legislative changes and business evolution.
  • Knowledge and understanding of SAP deployment projects, obtained through practical participation in a minimum of three project life cycles. (Oil and Gas experience an advantage).
  • The ability to explain issues and convey proposed solutions clearly and concisely to different audiences, including project team personnel and the full spectrum of financial system stakeholders in many countries.
  • Flexibility and adaptability; team members are required to participate in a wide range of financial system-related activities, ranging from large-scale deployment projects to smaller, targeted initiatives for improvement of the already-installed systems.
